Windows are here - 8 pallets and 5500 kgs all of which had to be lifted by hand and sorted into the individual rooms ahead of fitting. We started at 9am and finished at 5pm....I have had more fun days! This is only part of the order... we are due another 5 pallets yet !

After several requests...this is what my building looks like at the moment. South elevation...

and North..

The windows are sorted into the individual rooms ready for install. Meanwhile we are kept busy by some odd jobs. We start dwanging the ceilings but stop due to risk of damage to my precious windows.
My wife starts sanding the glulam beam and my building partner Ian fits packers between the steel and the first floor level to support the windows. I start running cat 6 network cables to every room to build my network.
In the only floor we have that is concrete we install Under Floor Heating.

Builder is back to put concrete in over my underfloor heating. Say bye bye to the plastic pipes...

Progress ! The last of the windows arrive, the fitters start the install...inside and out...your not getting pictures of the south elevation until its complete.

Inside the network cables are being installed by yours truly and Wendy, armed with a sander starts to beautify the glu-lam which is in a real mess - well dodged by Jimmy !!!

And...
yet another birthday! Today its the birthday of Dave Wallace, a regular member of our free labour support, heavy plant driver and all rounder! Today he is 72 !

So back to the work...South Elevation now has loads of glass now....things are a little behind as they ran out of time to get the bi-fold doors fitted. All my windows have been fitted by Dynamight Internorm...for anyone interested there is a link to their website on Technical Information page...Okay its hard to see it all behind the scaffolding but its all there. Jimmy has a night on site all by himself to potter away at weatherproofing the frames. Keep the water out..its our enemy!

A busy weekend. Ian McG dices with peril and gets all his windows lifted by telehandler into his building...he is a braver man than me!

This was done after dismantling the two sets of bi fold doors and moving them into the house. It took best part of Saturday as there was yet another 26 windows to move! Then its on to strapping and dwanging...a new experience for Jimmy.

Jimmy's first room completed!!!! Bring on the plasterboard!
